 PREFACE
A petrochemical is any chemical derived from
fossil fuels. These include purified fossil fuels
such as methane, propane, butane, gasoline, kerosene,
diesel fuel, fuel oil.
Also include many agricultural chemicals such
as pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Also
a wide variety of industrial chemicals are petrochemicals.
APPLICATIONS FOR PETROCHEMICALS
They are used as raw materials in the manufacture
of most industrial chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides,
plastics, synthetic fibers, paints, medicines,
and many other products. Many are hazardous.
